Question : #2188 Category: Medical Issues
Subject: Skin condition
Question: Salam alaykoum
I have a 17yr old daughter who is suffering from a autoimmune condition that causes her skin to be aggressively itchy, due to the feeling she will scratch ripping her skin open and than she picks and peels the skin. She has developed a picking disorder.
There is one solution which we did try for 6days, we could only do 6days due to a the fact she needs to do ghusl for haydth.
Applying artificial acrylic nails, prevents picking and the nail is thick and blunt so scratching does not break the skin.
My question is, is there a way she can wear the nails for 40days to allow the skin to heal, break the habit and than remove them.
In the 40days is there a way for her to do whudu and ghusl?
I understand nails are not to be worn outside the house, she would keep them natural without design or colour.
In the 6days we trialed, her skin begins to show signs of improvement, but once they are removed she regresses.
Her marja is his eminence sayed Ali Khamenei.
Any sort of assistance is greatly appreciated.
I have exhausted all other avenues in terms of medical treatments.
Wa Salam
