Pearl of Wisdom

to Qanbar when he wished to insult a man who had insulted him, 'Careful Qanbar! Leave your insulter to his disdain and you will please the Beneficent Lord, displease Satan and Punish thereby your enemy, for by the One who split the grain and created the breeze, there is no stance better than clemency with which a believer can please his Lord, and nothing like silence to offend Satan, and an idiot is best punished by ignoring Him.?

Question : #994 Category: Miscellaneous
Subject: Old mans qadha of salat sawm
Question: AOA,

First of all I'd like to express my happiness for this great service. May Allah Almighty bless everyone involved in this project.

My question is related to Salat and Sawm.
An old man in his late 60's wants to know the solution to the following issue as per the laws of agha Sistani:

This old man hasn't kept a fast in his life. (just a few maybe but he doesn't even know how many). He only started praying regularly at around the age of 40.

This man was not religious during his youth but he wants to rectify himself now. His mother passed away when he was 6 months old and his father didn't pay much attention to his upbringing. He started working at a very young age. His working environment was very tough and in harsh climate. This man became diabetic at the age of around 30. He is weak now and he also has heart problems and sits and prays his salat and cannot fast. Since he is poor, he is unable to pay large kaffara amount.

Kindly requesting you to reply at your earliest as he is desperately looking for a solution.

Thank you and best regards,
JazakAllah Khair
