Pearl of Wisdom

'There are three things that are the pride of a believer and his ornament in this world and the Hereafter: prayer at the end of the night [night vigil], his despair of [possessing] that which others own, and his allegiance to the Imam from the progeny of Muhammad (SAWA).'

Imam Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq [as]
al-Kafi, v. 8, p. 234, no. 311

Question : #962 Category: Miscellaneous
Subject: Gemstones
Question: I've heard tales from my grandmother about the gemstone 'sapphire' and how it had 'evil powers' of sort, and that if the stone isn't deemed favorable to a person, he/she shouldn't keep it as it would bring upon a bad omen on him/her. I want to know if such a thing about the gemstone is true, and if it is, how does one determine if the stone is good or bad for oneself? Thank you for your time!
