Pearl of Wisdom

was once asked, 'A believer intentionally kills a believer, does he have the right to repent?' The Imam replied, 'If his killing him was due to his belief, then he does not have the right to repentance. But if he killed him due to anger or any other worldly reason, then his repentance is that he be killed for it.'

Imam Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq [as]
al-Kafi, v. 7, p. 276, no. 2
