Pearl of Wisdom

Nahj al-Balagha that Imam 'Ali (AS) used to frequently say once he had completed his night prayers, 'I bear witness that the heavens and the earth and what is between them are signs that indicate to You and they bear witness to what You have called us towards. Everything that is a proof for You and demonstrates your Lordship carries the signs of Your bounties and the marks of Your administration and management.?

Question : #668 Category: Sexual Ethics & Morals
Subject: Ghusul
Question: Sallam,

My question is in regards ghusul for the state of junoob. will the ghusul be acceptable if the hair isn't washed,ie do the ghusul but have a shower cap on? Is it obligatory for a female to wash her hair during the ghusul.

Wasallsam and thank you in advance.
Answer: Alaykum Salam.

According to Sayyid Sistani, while doing Ghusl, one should wash the short hair which are taken as a part of the body.
Washing of the long hair is not obligatory. However, if one makes water reach the skin in such a way that those long hair do not become wet, the Ghusl is in order.
However, if it is not possible to make water reach the skin without washing those hair one should wash them so that water may reach the body.
