Pearl of Wisdom

to Abu al-'Abbas about the reciprocal invocation of Allah's curse, 'You cross your fingers with his fingers and say, ?O Allah! If so-and-so has disputed the truth and attested to a falsehood, then strike him with a bolt from the sky or some torment from You.' Then you exchange curses with him seventy times.?

Question : #668 Category: Sexual Ethics & Morals
Subject: Ghusul
Question: Sallam,

My question is in regards ghusul for the state of junoob. will the ghusul be acceptable if the hair isn't washed,ie do the ghusul but have a shower cap on? Is it obligatory for a female to wash her hair during the ghusul.

Wasallsam and thank you in advance.
Answer: Alaykum Salam.

According to Sayyid Sistani, while doing Ghusl, one should wash the short hair which are taken as a part of the body.
Washing of the long hair is not obligatory. However, if one makes water reach the skin in such a way that those long hair do not become wet, the Ghusl is in order.
However, if it is not possible to make water reach the skin without washing those hair one should wash them so that water may reach the body.
