Pearl of Wisdom

'A plant grows in a plain-levelled land and does not grow in a hard rocky place. The same goes for wisdom, as it grows in the humble heart and does not grow in the arrogant haughty heart; for Allah has made humbleness the tool for the intellect, and made arrogance the tool for ignorance. Do you not know that he who turns his head up towards the ceiling will break it, and he who lowers his head will be shaded and sheltered underneath it?! Thus, Allah will abase one who is not humble before Him, and Allah will elevate whoever is humble for Him.'

Imam Musa ibn Jafar al-Kadhim [as]
Tuhaf al-'Uqul, p. 396

Question : #662 Category: Zakaat & Khums
Subject: consider khums is given or not
Question: I have a Islamic sir who takes Islamic classes whom I give money of khums to deposit money to a organization which has permission of taking khums I give him money but I don’t know whether he gives it or not, but I have trust in him, he is pious too I want to ask him to give bill but I fear that he will think I have no trust in him should I consider he has given khums and not think like this as per ayatollah sistani (may god Allah give him long life) what should I do?
Answer: Salaam Alaykum,

Inshallah you continue your duties towards Allah.

As one who pays their khums, according to Sayyed Sistani, you can request a receipt signed by the Marja through either the Ayatollah or his representatives.

By requesting it doesn't mean you distrust, and the collector should know the Fatwas.
