Pearl of Wisdom

to Ibn Sinan, 'You will be afflicted withan obscure matter that will leave you with no sign to indicate to the solution, nor a leader to guide the way. None shall be saved from it except the one who recites the 'Supplication of the Drowning Person'. [The narrator says] I asked the Imam, 'What is the Supplication of the Drowning Person?' The Imam replied, 'You say: O Allah, O the Beneficent, O the Merciful, O He who causes the hearts to fluctuate, affirm my heart upon Your religion. So I said, ?O He who causes the hearts and sights to fluctuate, affirm my heart upon Your religion!' So he said, 'Allah, Mighty and Exalted, is indeed the One who causes the hearts and sights to fluctuate, but you must say exactly as I say: O He who causes the hearts to fluctuate, affirm my heart upon Your religion.'

Question : #412 Category: Salaat / Prayers
Subject: Praying before the schedule time
Question: Salaam,
Can we pray earlier then the schedule, and or is there circumstances when we can pray earlier?
Answer: A person can start offering prayers only when be becomes certain that the time has set in or when two just (Adil) persons inform that the time has set in. In fact, one can rely upon the Adhan, or on advice of a person who knows the timings and is reliable.

So one cannot perform their prayers earlier.

There are rulings that allow a delay in the time of prayer such that if a person cannot be certain about the Prime time for prayers due to a personal handicap like blindness or general hindrances like dust or clouds he should delay the prayer till such time when he feels sure that the time has set in.
