Question:	I want to ask that our beloved Prophet Mohammad saws said Attain knowledge even if u have to go to china for gaining knowledge Imam Ali a.s. also said Attain Knowledge does all this hadees is only for islamic knowledge or for even worldly knowledge?
Answer:	The Holy Quran speaks about knowledge a number of times. ie "Say, 'Are those who know equal to those who do not know?' Only those who possess intellect take admonition." (39:9) and "Allah will raise those ofyou who have faith and those who have been given knowledge in rank, and Allah is well aware of what you do." (58:11) The Holy Prophet has said "The quest for knowledge is incumbent upon every Muslim... by virtue of it the Lord is obeyed and worshiped, consanguinal relations are maintained, and the lawful is distinguished from the prohibited. Knowledge leads to action and action follows it. The fortunate ones are inspired by it whereas the wretched ones are deeoprnived of it." Hence Islam encourages gaining any useful knowledge.
