Pearl of Wisdom

'Indeed they have been ordered to be in the state of ihram in order that they humble themselves before entering the sanctuary and the safe place of Allah, and so that they do not divert and preoccupy themselves with anything of the affairs of this world and its adornments and pleasures; and so that they be serious in what they are engaged in, journeying to Him and approaching Him with all their being.'

Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha [as]
Wasa'il al-Shi'a, v. 9, p. 3, no. 4

Question : #334 Category: Wudhu / Ghusal
Subject: rules about wudhu
Question: I have a question regarding wudhu. I heard that it is haram to wash the arms 3 times.
What if you did this in the past without knowing do you have to repeat those prayers?
Answer: If you were been told to do Wudhu in that way and you did it thinking that it is right, then just start from now performing Wudhu in the proper way and you do not need to repeat the previous prayers.
