Pearl of Wisdom

'Allah repels [corruption] from those of our followers who do not pray, with those of our followers who do pray, and if they were to all agree to not pray, they would be destroyed. And verily Allah repels [chastisement] from those of our followers who do not pay the alms-tax with those of our followers who do pay the alms-tax. And this is the purport of Allah's verse in the Qur?an: Were it not for Allah's repelling the people by means of one another, the earth would surely have been corrupted.?

Question : #291 Category: Marriage - Nikkah
Subject: Reading marriage formula ourselves
Question: Is it permissible for a man and a woman to read the formula of marriage contract themselves. What is formula, please?
Answer: It is permissible for a man and a woman to recite the formula of the temporary marriage (Mut'ah), after having agreed on the period of marriage and the amount of Mahr.

Hence, if the woman says: Zawwajtuka nafsi fil muddatil ma'lumati 'alal mahril ma'lum (i.e. I have made myself your wife for an agreed period and agreed Mahr), and then the man immediately responds thus:
Qabiltu azzewaja lenafsi hakaza (i.e. I have accepted the marriage as was agreed.), the marriage will be in order.

And the marriage will also be in order if they appoint other persons to act as their representatives.
