Question:	Salaam Alaykum Why does Islam allow marriages as young as 9 years for girls and even recommend young marriages when science shows that such age of marriage and pregnancy can be very harmful to the health of such women? For those living at times before modern science, they wouldn’t have known about the harmful effects so could the rulings of Islam been harmful?
